More about the ancient process of Mokume Gane: Mokume Gane is a Japanese form of bonding 25 layers of precious metal. It translates to "wood-grain metal" and was used to adorn the handles of Damascus steel and Samurai swords. Our mokume is forged, twisted and patterned by hand here in our Vermont jewelry studio.
